The Island of Ischia has one of the most ancient hydrothermal legacies in the world, with 69 groups of fumaroles and 29 groups of thermal springs that give rise to 103 springs spread over the 42 sq. km or so of the island territory.
Each of the springs has its own particular features and properties that can be categorized in HOT, VERY HOT, THERMAL and HYPERTHERMAL (40°C and up) MINERALS (2.5 to 30 grams/litre of salt). These are divided into sodium-chloride (77 springs) or bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline (20 springs in Casamicciola and Barano). The former are classified as follows: salty-sulphate-alkaline (Casamicciola), salty-sulphate-ferrous (Forio) and salty-iodic, whereas the latter consist in bicarbonate-sulphate and bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline-earth waters. The chloride-sodic waters of Nitrodi are particularly effective against skin diseases. Treatments are provided for the following pathologies:

Poseidon - Forio d'Ischia
The Poseidon thermal park lies in the famous Bay of Citara where 20 therapeutic swimming pools have been built according to the most modern medical and technical dictates of our time. Each pool has its own constant temperature ranging between 28°C and 40°C and the water is constantly replaced given the abundance of thermal water.
Besides hot-cold baths, thermal sauna and a large licensed beach, there is also a sanitary department, fully-equipped for various massophysiotherapy applications, with total and aesthetic massages, as well as special hydromassages, inhalations and thermal aerosols. Treatments are available for: rheumatic diseases, arthritis, arthroses, painful spinal cord syndromes, sciatica, post-traumatic affections and diseases of the respiratory apparatus. Castiglione - Casamicciola Terme
Located in the commune of Casamicciola Terme, the Thermal Park lies in a luxuriant natural basin sloping towards the sea. Flowerbeds in bloom and tall pines surround it, creating an ideal atmosphere of tranquillity. In their treatises, both the ancient Romans and subsequently, the famous Neapolitan doctor, Iasolino, praised the natural waters of Castiglione, which is one of the most famous thermal springs on the island. Open from April to October, it has 10 swimming pools, 8 of which are thermal pools where the water temperature ranges between 30°C and 40°C and is constantly monitored by modern automatic systems. There is also an Olympic sea water swimming pool (25x14), a private beach, a natural sauna, hydromassages, a Kneipp swimming pool and a beauty and medical department directed by medical specialists. A funicular links the various facilities with the large parking areas. A scenic restaurant is also provided.
Negombo - Lacco Ameno
A beach of fine sands where you can practice diving, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, volleyball, dancing and yoga. Twelve marine and thermal swimming pools where you can swim and relax, caressed by hydromassages. A beauty centre with sauna and Turkish bath. Bars and restaurants facing the sea. The Tropical thermal complex is an enchanting park, literally overflowing with flowers, as well as all kinds of exotic and tropical plants, also providing one of the most famous views in Ischia. It lies in the marvellous Bay of S. Angelo, a short distance from the charming beach of Cava Grado. The Park includes 9 swimming pools, one filled with seawater, one with a thermal hydromassage and an indoor thermal swimming pool with temperatures ranging from 26°C to 40°C. There is also a centre for thermal treatments under medical control, mud baths and inhalation treatments provided within the National Health Service, physiotherapeutic treatments, corrective exercise, beauty and therapeutic treatments, natural saunas, Roman caves and a slope leading directly to the beach.
Aphrodite - Sant'Angelo
The Aphrodite Apollon gardens are framed by the delightful, exclusive bay of Sant’Angelo. An ideal respite from city stress, for people who love silence and tranquillity, the Aphrodite-Apollon Thermal Park is the perfect solution for both body and soul. Immersed in a sub-tropical garden, a few steps away from the beach, it has 12 swimming pools with various temperatures (from 25°C to 40°C), a restaurant with a splendid terrace overlooking the sea, a fully-equipped fitness centre and a physiotherapy centre, a natural cave sauna and a beauty centre.
